Did we really buy that?

The 'bunker' was not a structure of endearing beauty; a simple two up, two down property built with local stone and a flat concrete roof. It had been built in the Mussolini era and abandoned in the fifties. It had been connected to electricity but didn't have a bathroom or toilet. Water was supplied by a well which still exists. Without any foundations there was significant evidence of subsidence with large cracks in the walls. It was not a hard decision to demolish it and build new - you only had to get planning. That is another story!
