Casa in Legno
Situated on a steeply sloping wooded site in the hamlet of Limiti, near Palombaro, Chieti, Abruzzo, Casa in Legno offers accomodation on two level terraces.
At the top is the main house; a two bedroomed villa with open plan accomodation downstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed and ensuite facilities whilst the second bedroom is equipped with twin beds with a family bathroom just outside the door. Both bedrooms open out onto a large balcony with commanding views across the valley to the hill top town of Palombaro. The ground floor has a large covered terrace for eating outdoors on those balmy summer evenings.
The sun drenched lower terrace provides the setting for the swimmingpool and pool house. The lower terrace has a solar powered outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim as well as further facilities in the poolhouse. The poolhouse is its own private apartment with a double bedroom, showerroom and kitchen/living room with double sofa bed.

A commission for the design was given to Maria Elena Sigismondi, a local architect from Lanciano.
It was to be a modern take on the character of local houses.

The existing building on the site was not a thing of natural beauty and did not have any foundations.
It was an easy decision to knock it down and start again.
